Cornett just is a dumbass, I like to think it's a show to try to delay things(which I think was what she was trying to do last time). Hutchinson isn't stupid, but he acts like a child like the rest of them, esp. with this last one. I'd have to talk to him, but I don't see Rocky being much more intelligent than Betty, they both act like they don't have a clue. Ever since they did their little "protest" and didn't show up for the voting on the new member, I have zero respect for any of them and they all proved they are children.

I think you are pretty much spot on with your assessments

I've heard about the gym over and over again in Appy, what's wrong with it? I'm really asking, the way they talk it's a black hole in the middle of the gym....so what's really the issue?

Watching this last meeting again, just keeps making me sick with the way these three are acting.

There is no gym there, it is one of those gym/cafeteria/auditorium things that were all the rage 30 years ago when the county was building new elementary schools.

To be perfectly honest, that is what we had when I was in school and it worked fine. IMO, the only time an elementary school needs a gym like many in this area have now is if it is replacing the existing high school gym. However, I wish they would just go ahead and build the gym; if we can waste money in other parts of the county we can waste it in Appalachia.

On another note, does anybody else feel like this whole thing is a race now? The anti consolidation people are trying to make this a stand still so they can get the culture of the board changed in upcoming elections while the pro consolidation people are working at warp speed to get this done. In the long run, the kids suffer.

That is what is seems like, but I talked to one of the CEASE members today, and they have an attorney and are in the process of filing suit to try and stop the process on the grounds that it is not what the people want, especially after last night's fiasco.

What happened last night?

So that's it? Wow, that's what Norton had and still has I'm assuming, it worked perfectly fine and there wasn't any hazard. I think I've played ball in that gym anyway, it's in appy and has pics of the little kids basketball teams on the wall - one team were the X-men, loved that. If that's the same gym, there's nothing wrong with it at all and that's all elementary school kids need. If kids are always getting hurt in there, then someone isn't watching them like they're supposed to.


I think the whole CEASE thing is ridiculous, I seen Cornett giving them props, that did it for me. Now with this lawsuit, they have zero respect or credibility. They're as much of a problem as the three stooges on the board.

is there any actual problem that can't be fixed with the gym?
Or is it unavailable too much? Some places like to limit access of "built-in" gyms, but an "unconnected" gym might be open every evening.
